Fly High

A painting I did for my Art 4 class last semester. The project theme was "Zoom, Zoom, Zoom", so we had to take one picture and zoom in/out farther and farther three times. I would have gone insane painting the same thing three times, so I changed it up a bit. I zoomed out each time, but used a different picture each time as well. The closest cropped piece had to be abstract but the other two did not.

My theme for the semester was "Break Free", and since birds are often connected to "freedom" I chose to do several pieces of ravens. This bird has escaped the cage it was previously contained in, and is now flying away. Also.. I'd just like to point out that it's SUPPOSED to look like it's raining in the background. For some reason everyone in my art class just thought I sucked at painting backgrounds correctly... I tried really hard to make it look that way.

The picture I used for a reference was found though Google. I didn't save the original, so I don't know who to credit. :/
